The price of Indian Sandalwood has risen to very high levels and is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. Beware of adulterated blends! A very close relative to Indian Sandalwood in composition, S. australcaledonicum is an excellent altenative at a more reasonable price, with all the same applications.

• Regarded in Ayurvedic medicine as a definitive anti-pitta essence – very cooling to fiery, over-heated conditions. May be useful for fiery conditions of the skin (dry, irritated, chapped, acne)
• May be a beneficial tonic for the lymphatic & circulatory systems
• May benefit respiratory complaints, as with coughs & laryngitis.
